At 6.45am this morning 90 year old Margaret Keenan was given the first coronavirus vaccination in the world. This is brilliant news and I hope everyone who can have a vaccination jab takes one. Some people have genuine concerns about vaccines however no matter what your views are on the threat of covid 19 or vaccines, it is hard to imagine that some sort of proof of vaccination will be needed to do a lot of things going forward. This will not be the result of a Big Brother Orwellian plot but a matter of economics. Businesses have suffered terribly over the last year and if allowing people in to shops, restaurants, cafes etc who have not been vaccinated might expose the owner to restrictions or lockdown then I wouldn't mind betting that some l mind of proof of vaccination will be needed. I'm not saying this is right, only that I think this will happen.
Incidentally, surely the Queen's decision to be one of the first to be vaccinated is a great example of leadership and I fully commend her for doing this.
